The K23 category (also known as the ii3 classification with VIRTUS) is for elite athletes with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), specifically those who do not fit into the K21 or K22 categories. Currently, K23 is the only major intellectual impairment category without a World Championship stage or official WKF World Ranking. This project exists to close that gap.
No. While founded in the UK and Brazil, this is an international coalition. We are currently representing and seeking athletes and clubs from across Europe, South America, and beyond. Our strength lies in proving to the WKF that K23 is a globally populated and competitive category.
Our immediate objective is the official inclusion of the K23 category in the 2026 World Championship cycle. Beyond that, we are campaigning for the establishment of a transparent World Ranking system and access to the A-Series and Premier League circuits for K23 competitors.
Clubs can join as "Official Supporters." By lending your dojo’s name and your coach’s endorsement, you help us demonstrate to national and international governing bodies that the entire karate community—not just the athletes—demands this evolution toward full inclusion.
There will never be any costs to take part in the project.
Absolutely. Our Ambassadors are already competing at national and international invitational levels, often producing scores that rival or exceed existing World Championship categories. The talent exists; only the stage is missing.
